    Picky cat likes it!

One of my cats eats the Pet Honesty probiotic every day and my other cat would NOT touch his food when I added it. I wanted to try a new probiotic for him and he actually likes this one! I don’t know if it’s flavorless or if it’s tastes good, but he’s super picky and eats all of his dinner even when I add this. Guess I’ll be repurchasing!

    Probiotics for my dog .

I really can’t say too much about the The pills . What I do like is that too small? And I mix them in with your food . She hasn’t been on them that long . So I’m not sure if I’m seeing any results yet . But I am giving it to her . And I need more time to see if they are helping her . She has allergies Really bad. It’s so far I haven’t seen any help in that . But I’m still hoping it’s because she hasn’t been on them that long . So I would have to get back with this one too .

One of the best products on the market. Must have for ailing kittens ,fosters/rescues/senior cats.

It works when prescription meds don’t, and gentler on my senior cats, & shelter /foster kittens. Lifesaver, literally. I’ve tried other types, and they all fail miserably. The next best is the Vetriscience probiotic paste, if this brand is not available.

Arrived quickly ordered before our temps reached 80’s plus. Although you never know how it was stored prior. I placed in fridge right away, since our natural daily temps are in the 70’s. Product needs to be kept below 77°f. Or it loses potency and can go rancid.Did sniff test, no odor.

    Stopped uncontrollable drooling!

I rarely write reviews but this has been a miracle. Over the past year, our dog has started having multiple episodes every week of uncontrollable drooling in the evening and the vet couldn’t give us any clear answers. He seemed miserable and we were covering our floors and furniture with towels to contain the mess. I remembered this brand that the vet had given us one time and found it on Amazon. Since sprinkling one capsule on his breakfast daily, we have not had one episode of drooling!! We have tried many other products claiming to help with digestive issues but nothing has worked until now. I’m truly amazed at how much of an improvement we’ve seen!

    I’m amazed!

I bought this product mainly for my Mini Aussie because he seemed to be vomiting constantly and chewing on his feet but I’m giving it to our 15 y/o basset mix too. The difference it’s made in just over a week is amazing! I haven’t had to clean up after my Aussie and the Basset mix has more energy than she’s had in quite a while. I read about adding the probiotics when I was trying to find something (ANYTHING really) that would keep my little fuzz ball from making me mop the floor in the middle of the night. The article by the AKC listed the things one should contain and this one has them all as opposed to just a few. We open the capsule and sprinkle it on their wet food and it doesn’t seem to have any smell or taste that would be off-putting to either of our finicky little eaters. Even my husband (who thought I was nuts for trying) is onboard with this! Score one for me!!! It may be a little more expensive than some of the others but it has everything that was recommended plus the prebiotics that help the probiotics be absorbed more easily in the gut. I’m really pleased with the difference it’s made and I’ll be keeping them on it from now on.

    OK

I don’t think this product is as good as Purina Fortiflora which is used by my primary vet, but Purina is really proud of their product as it costs about $1.00 per packet so expensive over time if you need to use it ongoing for a dog that needs digestive help. I think the Nutramax product is the second best product available and is used by our secondary vet who is more cost conscious. Would recommend if you need a product that works but need something more cost effective.

    Good product

Good product. I do not know why they say to open capsule and sprinkle on food. I called them asked.People : you can just hide the capsule in a treat or wrap the capsule in a piece of cheese and give to your dog, (Capsule and all) and forget about sprinkling on food! Why they say to open capsule and sprinkle on food is beyond me.

SMELLY CAT…SMELL-E-CAT…What have they been feeding you….

***UPDATE 2/3/2017***So, we’ve been using this product for several months now. I am on my third order. The good news is this product keeps my smelly cat’s stool from smelling so bad. The downside is that it is not a one-time fix 🙁 Unfortunately, discontinuing the use of the product causes the cat’s foul stool odor to return. We will continue to use it but we’re probably going to have to investigate alternative diets and food in the hopes of helping this cat smell better. I do realize that poop is supposed to smell bad. But this cats poop is out of the ordinary foul smelling. Our vet doesn’t want to try antibiotics at this point because they believe it will likely do more harm than good. So we’ll have to see if we can find a suitable diet that helps.***********************We are less than a week into using this product so I will have to come back with a long-term update at a later time. But I’ll explain why we purchased this product and what we are seeing now.Over the last year, our two old house cats that have been with us for the past 18 years have finally died. They lived long and happy lives. My wife and I decided to get a new kitty and we wanted a pure breed. Locally in AZ there aren’t a whole lot of options for pure breeds and we were not about to pay hundreds of dollars to ship an animal from another location, but we did find one intriguing breed here – the Bengal cat. So we decided that, even those these cats are very high energy and aggressive, that we would get a kitten and see how it goes. The cat is great if not little psychotic (she bites you when she wants you to play with her and wiggling toes & feet under bed-covers sends her into a primal tiger rage!). The one downside – this cat had the SMELLIEST GAS AND STOOLING EVER!!! OMG, this cat would reek-out the entire house (and I have a big home) anytime she used the litter box to the point where I would have to put the box outside after I would catch her using it. I have never had a cat with smelly flatulence before, but any time this cat let out some gas….HOLY COW, go get some clothes pins on your nose!!! There are college fraternity bathrooms that smelled more clean and fresh than this cat!! It was truly gross. My wife and I were quit perplexed and tried many different combinations of cat food (we use only wet food) from different vendors. Nothing changed the odor. So we asked our veterinarian about it and she suggested that probiotics might work if the cat has inadvertently gotten some bad gut flora. Apparently, the probiotics provide the appropriate balance of “good” gut flora that can wipe out some of the other, smellier types of bacteria. She did not have any suggested brands and only anecdotal evidence from other patients but she told us to go take a look. So I did some research and the Proviable-DC brand got good reviews all around the internet as far as I could tell from reputable sites (sorry, Reddit, you don’t count!). Well, I ordered the product and started using it as directed this past week.As of writing this comment (so about 7 days in), the cat no longer smells. Her flatulence is undetectable at this point and the liter box has been inside all day since and only has the typical cat box smell (I change out the pan liners every 4-6 days). Hopefully the long term results will be good.

    Ripped box

The probiotics were recommended by the vet. I hope they still work. This is the second order of these ones and both orders arrived in deplorable condition. Like a box that has been left wet in the heat and all ripped. That’s disrespectful with a client. I don’t know if the probiotic is intact. I’m very disappointed at the way this and previous package was handled.

Miracle Life Changing Treatment for Cat’s Lifelong Chronic Diarrhea

I have a cat who has suffered from bouts of diarrhea for his whole life. He’s an 8 year old Manx and at least once a month – often weekly- throughout his entire life I would find he had diarrhea all over his bum that had spread to the floor, blankets, and his cat bed. The amount of time spent having to clean him and anywhere he’d been in the house was considerable. It was awful and would come out of nowhere. His vet at a very reputable animal hospital had recommended an otc probiotic made for humans called culturelle that I’d put in his food every time he had a flare up and within about a day the diarrhea would abate, but the probiotic did not seem to address the cause of the issue.About a year ago right before a move 600 miles away – I took him to a different vet for travel meds as well as the diarrhea. This vet recommended proviable as a probiotic specifically for cats. I didn’t even know there was such a thing before that. That was a life changer. After sprinkling Proviable in his wet food on only 4 occasions his diarrhea not only cleared up but he has not had another bout of diarrhea since. Even with the car ride, move, changes to his diet, and introduction of new cats. I’ve had him since his birth and from the time he was a tiny kitten until a year ago when he started proviable – almost 7 years – we dealt with this issue. I believe that the PRE-biotic blend in this made the difference in that it helped the good bacteria actually and finally get established in his gut for the first time, rather than the probiotics just passing through. It has made a huge difference for him for not having to suffer with it and for me not having to constantly deal with the mess. One caveat – I fostered kittens with diarrhea and this did not help their diarrhea at all until they were dewormed and given antibiotics. They were strays that ate and drink anything they could and had to be treated with specific targeted antibiotics to address the issues they had. Diarrhea can be caused by many different things and it’s important to address the root cause. But for issues related to gut health and a lack of good bacteria established in the gut- this truly can work wonders.

The paste that comes in the other kit is great. I have that Proviable for emergencies. These are great if you are out of the paste. In the past, I used fortiflora but this works way faster. If your dog likes to chase and eat bugs, and get what I call the, “opened fire hydrant poo-pocalypse”, this product is for you. My holy terror, speed demon, cotton ball on four paws is on a one dog mission to eradicate any beetles that make the mistake of wandering into the yard. They must taste great because he keeps going for them. I probably should have named him Renfield. The first time, I only had fortiflora. He was waking me up every 2 hours that night in a panic even though he no longer had anything left. I got some Proviable from the vet and it worked. After that, I have kept this in our cabinet just in case. If youre worried about the heat destroying the product in transit, dont. It was in the 90’s when I had our last box delivered. It still worked great for us.

My dog had a growth in his mouth that I didn’t know about til we took him to the vet. I was giving him this a few days before he went. I have NO idea if he’s better because of this or because of the antibiotic he was on. I suspect it was the antibiotic. He’ll lick this off my hand or the floor, so that’s good. Don’t buy from your vets

First off, let me just say to buy this from Amazon and not your vet office (unless its just my vet that charges an exorbitant amount). My vet charged me $60 for a 30 day supply when I can get (at the time of the review) 80 capsules for $33. Even with giving 1 capsule per day to two cats, I still get 40 days for about half the price that my vet charged. When I saw what my vet charged me I was worried because having a diabetic cat is already expensive so I was wondering how I was also going to manage affording another $60 a month to maintain her health as she gets older. I started searching online for cheaper prices and found it on Amazon and ordered it. I scoured through both packages thinking that maybe my vet had given me a prescription strength or a different type that could only be gotten through a vet. Unless I’m that obvious and missed something it was the *exact* product that I got from my vet.I have two lovely cats that are turning into old lady seniors. One is 9 and the other is 11. The 9 year old has a sensitive stomach and the 11 year old is a diabetic. In a grossly amusing way they are polar opposites. The 9 year old vomits more frequently than normal because of her sensitive stomach and the 11 year old gets soft stool and diarrhea as a combination of being diabetic and only being allowed soft food. Neither cat has any other conditions that would be contributing to their respective problems. My vet recommended Proviable for both of them as a way to help improve and then maintain gut flora which in turn would improve their overall health.I found it easy to administer and both cats tolerated it beautifully. I prepare their evening food which is wet cat food for the both of them. I break open a capsule and sprinkle the powder over the food and repeat again for the second with another one. According to the instructions it does not need to be mixed with the food. I was a little hesitant at first thinking my cats would notice the powder and avoid it but neither one of them cared. Whether I served them their food immediately or waited a couple of minutes until the powder started to soak in the food the result was the same. I don’t give them dry food but I imagine the same outcome. I don’t remember there being any different instructions for dry food. Both cats have shown a marked improvement in both the front and back end emissions! The diabetic cat still has soft stool but its to be expected. Its soft but still more firm than prior to beginning using Proviable. She no longer has diarrhea at all. The cat with the sensitive stomach does still get sick to her stomach occasionally but there’s been a drastic reduction compared to what would be one or two times a week. The only drawback I can think of to this product is that I feel like when you stop it for any period of time that any issues would come back. Though I can’t be 100% sure about that.

After parasites, you’ll never want your baby to have an upset stomach again. Probiotics are so important, and most dry foods tout them. But these are serious probiotics. I open one capsule a day and mix into his morning food. He loves it.

    Proviable-DC

I use this Proviable-DC to help my 1-1/2 year old (Lhasa Apso) dog. My dog has had an excessive hunger since we brought him home at about 8-weeks old from the breeder. He ate and poop all out …. Didn’t matter how big or small meals he ate, still had logs poops 3-4 times a day. We tried just about every probiotics out there, modified home cooked meals, kibbles, feed small meals 4-times/day … nothing work. He did not look healthy, couldn’t gain weight, has coarse and dry hair, bite/itching skin, his ears turned dark purple/black ……..3 months ago, we put him on 5mg/day of Claritin Reditabs (reg tab did not work), a month later, we put him on B12 (Methyl liquid human grade by pure enc.) 1- drop/to start on empty stomach then gradually increase to 3-drops (this is about 150mcg) max, and a month ago, we put him on 1/2 of Proviable-dc (mix in food). There were some improvement but he still poops some logs in the morning, made no different when giving the whole capsule/day per manufacture recommended. We then switched him from Proviable-dc to Proviable-forty and he get 1/3 to 1/2 capsule/day in his food or water (chicken water). We’ve seen major improvement, no log poops, and only poop 2/day. His weight starts to fill-in, his hair got softer and his ears shows some pink. All in all, this Proviable-dc works for pet w/medium to mild issues. We’ll switch him from Forty to DC for maintenance.

Best veterinary probiotic supplement out there

I think just about everyone should speak to their vets about probiotic supplements for their pets. It’s fairly well-accepted that probiotics are beneficial for those animals with digestive issues, but there’s even speculation as to whether they can provide benefits to healthy animals. I know I’ve seen a few cat foods that include probiotic strains in the food itself, but most don’t (and even for those that do, I’m pretty skeptical of how well the bacteria hold up to all the processing cat foods go through), so if your vet recommends probiotic therapy, you’ll need to find a supplement like this one.I entered the probiotic world when my cat was diagnosed with some sort of nebulous autoimmune thing that targets, among other things, his digestive tract. Diarrhea…constipation…vomiting…regurgitating…stomatitis…allergy symptoms…anorexia…he’s had them all. Treating it has been a nightmare, but probiotics were one of the vet’s first suggestions, filed under the heading “unlikely to hurt even if they don’t help.” Believe me, it’s a straw I was happy to grasp.A lot of probiotics designed for pets come with flavorings and proteins designed to make them more palatable. I’d started my cat on those Purina packets, and I have to say, the flavorings work; he loved them. Problem is, if you’re undergoing an elimination diet or if you’re limiting antigenic proteins — which many of the people searching out pet probiotics are — the supplements aren’t in compliance with the diet. Seems to me those Purina ones have beef protein in them, for instance. It took some doing, but by aggravating vets far and wide, I was finally able to find a supplement that’s completely free of protein: this one. (And I called the company to verify.) So right there, that’s an enormous benefit. Another one is that this contains seven bacterial strains, when most veterinary probiotic supplements only have one. It looks expensive at first, but compared to the others on the market, it’s not bad. In short, Proviable is a great choice for a probiotic supplement.(I hate to harp, but I’m going to do it anyway: don’t take my word for it…or anyone else’s on the internet, for that matter. Never give your pet any kind of supplement without running it by a vet first. One thing I’ve discovered over a lifetime of pet ownership is that a lot of the common knowledge out there is wrong.)The capsules are easy to open and the powder inside has no flavor — I tasted some to be sure — so even those pets who won’t let you add meds to their food should be able to ignore this. I’m sure most people add it to canned food so as to dissolve the powder, but my cat’s intake of canned food is hit or miss — as much as I wish it were otherwise, since canned food is nearly always superior to dry — so I sprinkle it on his kibbles. He gets one capsule daily.A couple notes:1. High temperatures kill probiotics. At minimum, think long and hard about whether you want to order a supplement like this from the web in the summer months; the truck that brings them will not be refrigerated. You might run the risk of expiration issues, but my strategy is to get a few boxes in April. A local source might be another option (though keep in mind that you can’t guarantee that the shipping/storage prior to your buying the stuff won’t do the bacteria in).2. The supplement is protein-free, as I said. The capsules, however, are not. If you’re limiting proteins, you’ll definitely want to open the capsules and administer only the powder. (Since the capsule’s contents are tasteless, I’d recommend doing that regardless; it’s way less traumatic than giving them a pill.)This got long, but the TL;DR version is that probiotics are a great thing, and of the veterinary probiotics on the market, these are a superior choice.

    Life Changing!

I have a beautiful, healthy German shepherd that has separation anxiety from me when I travel. It has caused so much stress for her and I both whenever I need to travel with my family. I’ve tried so many different things in the past to try and alleviate her stress, but over time it has only worsened. Besides from leaving her with a family member “whom she loves”, never boarding, vet given anxiety meds, among several other types of probiotics, nothing has helped. Last few times I had to leave her she had terrible diarrhea throughout my home, requiring my poor mother to clean up after her daily. I thought it was a lost cause & nothing would help. I researched for several days & came upon this product. I received it 2 days before going away on an 8 day trip. I managed to give her one before I left & instructed my mother to continue daily. Well, she not only didn’t have any accidents whatsoever, but was the happiest I had ever seen her when I arrived back from my trip. She was happy, energetic & very healthy in appearance. This stuff seems like magic! I can’t begin to explain at what a relief it is knowing that not only can I travel without worry, but knowing she’s happy & feeling good is beyond priceless. I’ll be a lifelong customer & pray this stuff is always available!

    Really helpful

My 3 years old cat used to throw up right after her meal. I tried to control her portion and bought a bowl to let her eat slowly. It didn’t work at all. As soon as she took this product, she didn’t throw up at all!!! Love this product!
