    Great Product

I have this product as a subscription. It is fabulous for my tetra fish community. I only feed these to them 3 times a week.I will admit, frozen bloodworms are better. I add these with my bug bite food and my fish go crazy. I don’t like frozen foods for my larger aquarium because that falls down into the water column and hits the bottom. With these, they float on the top of the water and I can remove them if my fish don’t eat them all. Helps me keep the tank a bit cleaner.I do want to mention that not all of the bloodworms are consistent in size. This works well for my tank because the bigger fish will eat the larger pieces. The powder and smaller pieces are excellent for my baby fish in the breeder tank. Really nothing goes to waste for me.I also have a Venus flytrap plant that I feed these to. Overall, I am happy with this product and will continue with my subscription service!

    As advertised

I ordered this product for a different use than normal for feeding fish but it’s just as advertised. I purchased these to feed a Cape Sundew predatory plant (relative of the flytrap) when flies or other insects aren’t around to provide some food for the plant. The product itself came with great quality, nearly all the mealworms were whole so there’s no mess, and they look healthy and performed perfectly for its use. Versatile product that has several benefits!

    Delicious

My beta fish would not eat regular bet, beta fish food when I bought these dried blood worms he was all over them! Hasn’t been happier!

Yeah it’s a great price. The child proof cap is terrible.

It’s a great price, and my fish love it. It seems like big pieces and little powder, which is excellent. Honestly, though, I didn’t know it had a child-proof cap. At first, I thought this was awesome until I overtightened it. The cap is so cheap that I had to pop it off and use tools to free it essentially! This means we now have a rule: “Not overtighten the fish food!”

    Frozen way better

I remember when my community tanks thought this was filet mignon. Unfortunately, my predator tank has already experienced Frozen bloodworms, and now will not touch these.I must admit, besides being more like fresh, Frozen have yet another advantage: They are significantly less Dusty. The dust is known to trigger allergies. That said, Frozen bloodworms are also extremely expensive compared to freeze-dried. Therefore, I was really hoping my fish would accept these, because I would like to keep Electric blue acara, & they are expensive fish that require expensive food. Alas. It appears I will get a school of Colombians instead. I have had an opaline blue gourami, & she tortured my favorite fish: an elderly pacu. He likes to chase tetras, so the Colombians will work well. I have had them in my 75 before.

    Not for my Betta

I thought for sure he would love these, but they sat uneaten at the bottom of the tank. He liked the frozen blood worms, so I’m not sure what’s going on. It was a good buy, but I would not purchase these again.

    My fly trap loves em

I rehydrate these for my carnivorous plants in a little bit of water and my fly trap gobbles these up. I’m not as sure how the pitcher plant feels about them, he tends to be a little less emotive, but he seems to be flourishing as well.

Attractive to guppies of all sizes.

This is one if the ways I treat my guppies for worms. The tough chitin shells are abrasive and scrape their intestines free of eggs or small worms, similar to dried shrimp fish food.

Saved our fish that refused to eat! Great purchase!

I am not sure how to rate flavor, I am not about to taste a blood worm. However, based on the fish’s response to the food, it gets 5 stars!Overall, Tetra Blood Worms Freeze Dried Treat saved our Betta. I would recommend this to anyone with a Betta. But more specifically, one that has no idea what they are doing with a fish and are at that point where their child has bugged them enough for a fish, that you finally cave.We received our fish mid-April as a birthday gift for my son and had Betta food that was recommended at the pet store. It did not seem like the fish was eating the food. After a few weeks the fish started looking rough. It was losing its gorgeous color and its fins seemed to be deteriorating. We thought, for sure, the fish was not going to make it and started prepping for how to handle this with our young son.As a last ditch effort, I started searching the web for what may be wrong with our Betta and found many open ended answers. The fish seemed to take in the food we had and spit it out. One site said they were eating and taking small bites, another said maybe it was too big? One site someone commented how their Betta loves Blood Worms and gets excited when they see it coming. I laughed about it, and thought, we will give it a shot. Then I can at least tell my son we tried. So, the food came just in the nick of time. It was on the bottom of the tank, blackish looking…the beautiful blue and orangey red it originally was, gone. The fish was on its last leg/fin. I put a little food in and watched intently for about 10 minutes. Finally, the Betta went up and nibbled. A piece went in his mouth, then out. This happened a few times, and I figured same thing. Failure. But then, another bite, and it stayed in! I watched it continue to nibble. I fed it again that night. The next morning, it’s color already started coming back and it was more active. Today is day 4 on the food. The fish is back in action! Color is coming back beautifully and super active. Dare I say, it even gets excited when it sees me coming with the food?! Tetra Blood Worms Freeze Dried Treat Is a must for anyone with a Betta!

No need for a “Beta” test. These are great.

My daughter uses these for her Betas and I have used them for a newborn hatchling turtle. There is like a million little blood worms in this bottle. They are super tiny, so they work great for feeding your fish. No bad smells or fouling up your water either. Just be sure to not over feed your fish unless you have some kind of bottom feeder that will take care of all the tiny bloodworms that sink down and settle in the rocks. For anybody that has never used these before, they are dried, so it’s not like you are dealing with some type of moist slimy food. I think your fish will really dig these. So atleast give them a shot. The price is a pretty good deal, so it’s not like you are gonna have to break the bank whenever you need to buy more. Plus you could just use these as a secondary food source so you pet can be getting a balanced diet. It’s always best to have a few different foods on hand so you can mix it up a bit, and this is one to definitely have in your selection. I, with no hesitation will suggest this for your fish. You’ll see just how fast they dart at these when you try them out for yourself.

My Betta is eating them. All is well so far.

These dried bloodworms are not the perfect food source. As many dried feeder items, most are just empty shells. But there is still some good nutrition in them still. Have had no issues feeding to my Betta. There was a bit of a worry bc some folks said that their fish had expired from just these as feeders. Don’t think that would happen unless they were contaminated in some way… but you never know. My guy is doing well however thankfully.

Great source of protein for your fish

Easy to dispense from screw cap container. High in protein, feed sparingly, and remove excess. Worms are separate so individual pieces can be dispensed. Great once a week Betta food.

    My fish won’t touch these

I was so excited to get my fish blood worms because everything online insinuated they were a treat rather than the main food. Both of my fish ate what I gave them and then instantly spit it out. I continued to try over the next couple of days to give them bits and pieces, but unfortunately it just floated there and dirtied up the water. I’m still giving it a three-star because maybe my fish are just picky

Great food for your fish or your Venus fly trap.

Worms are whole worms but dehydrated. Works as fish food and also works well for feeding Venus flytraps in the winter months when no flies are available, but you have to hydrate them first with distilled water.

Captive fish need a variety in their diet.

I have a feeding regimen for two tanks of tropical fish and native fish. This food, from Tetra has always been reliable. Tetra is a reputable company and their products are always quality. This should not be the only thing that you ever feed your fish or salamander larva. Mix the diet up for healthier specimens. Our fish love this stuff.

    Bloodwürms

Simple as the headline, they are bloodworms. They’re smaller than I thought they’d be but if you’re at all familiar with bloodworms, they’re probably exactly what you’d expect. You do get quite a bit in the container. They’re good for hydrating and feeding my carnivorous plants, at least that’s what I used them for. Their growth rate increased since feeding these to them, and my sundew started growing more flower stalks.Apparently these are meant to be supplemented alongside a Betta fish’s main diet, so it should last a decent while if that’s what you want these for. For feeding carnivorous plants like me, they should last even longer. For a just few bucks, I’d say it’s worth it.

But they take forever to sink, so it’s not really practical.Won’t be buying again but maybe others will continue having luck with this.
