Description
From the manufacturer
At ARM & HAMMER we respect all living things, especially animals and pets because they rely on us. We focus on producing high-quality products for our customers while embracing a corporate duty to respect the environment and natural resources.
For even more freshness and added odor control, consider adding an additional box of ARM & HAMMER baking soda to your cat’s litter box. Sprinkling a little bit of ARM & HAMMER on your cat’s litter can help eliminate odor from any cat litter tray.
No Harsh Chemicals
We’re finicky when it comes to what we put in our litter. Harsh chemicals and synthetic perfumes just don’t make sense to us. Instead, we use the odor-fighting power of 100% natural pine.
Highly Absorbant
Highly absorbent pine fibers work like thousands of tiny sponges to soak up liquid and lock away ammonia odors so your kitty’s litter box stays fresh.
Pine Promise
No new trees are cut down to make FelinePine products. Our natural litter is made from kiln-dried shavings that are reclaimed from lumber production.
Pet-Friendly
There are no harsh chemicals or synthetic perfumes in our litter. Low dust and low tracking help keep your pet and home clean.
Our pine-pellet cat litter works best with a sifting litter box but can also be used with a sift scooper over a trash can at changing time.
Unlike traditional clay litter, the pine pellets in our unscented cat litter may create less dust and tracks. If the litter does create some tracking, the large pellets are easy to see and clean, making this a cleaner alternative for homes with multiple pets or small children. It can also last 2–3 times longer than traditional clay litter.

Two complaints but will buy again
It’s hard to scoop without getting clean pellets scooped up, too. And it’s expensive, (so those pellets matter!)However, I love that it doesn’t get tracked all over the place! it does well with odors; my one cat doesn’t spend an hour (just kidding, it’s not quite that long) trying to bury everything, and my other cat doesn’t cough after using the litter box which alone makes it worth it.I’ve tried ten different litters in the past month and have had the most success with this – for my cats and for me – son I will buy it again.

Low Tracking, No Odor, No Health Issues
This is the only type of litter I use for my long hair cat. Whatever is in the litter box inevitably gets stuck to her paws and potentially consumed, which was causing UTIs and other issues with clay litter. Ever since I switched to the pine litter, she hasn’t had a single UTI! On top of that it has no odor and I find rather easy to clean, I just remove the poop daily and switch out the entire box once a week.

Almost as good as the tractor supply one
Recently moved to a new state where there is NO tractor supply store close enough to buy the horse pellets I normally use for cat litter.Bought this one with low hopes and it’s almost as good if not as good as the one you’d get from tractor supply. However for the price you can get a bag more than double this size at tractor supply or almost anywhere else that sells pellets.4 star because it’s great but a bit over priced. If you’re on the fence about using pellets instead of you’re regular clay or sand cat litter DO IT!!!. It’s worth it, virtually no mess at all, doesn’t track, very good at absorbing smells. You won’t smell anything honestly

best mixed with catspot
Our cat refused to use this until I started laying first the pellets, then covering with the catspot coconut husk litter she was accustomed to using. Gradually I’ve been able to increase the amount of pellets. I love that it adds a natural woodsy scent, is very absorbent, doesn’t track around the house as easily as other litter, is more environmentally friendly than clay based and easier on my allergies than clay based and, finally, that the pellets break down with moisture releasing more woodsy scent and adding a longer-lasting feature. My only complaint is that my cat won’t use JUST the pellets. I continue having to layer the litter. Catspot does layer nicely though and includes many of the features I like so it’s a working solution for us.

Works well on odors
Great on odors and doesn’t track. Easy to scoop. Good value. Pellets are large and was worried my cat wouldn’t use but it was fine.

Not bad at all
The biggest issue I had was when I first switched from kitty litter to this and my cat decided to pee on the bed for some reason. She was meowing before she did and I didn’t realize when she did and once she did that I put her in the litter box and she used it. I think she just needed to get used to it and once she did we haven’t had an accident since! The odor control is amazing and even when she doesent cover her poop with the litter. I scoop a lot less often with this litter and have had no problem with smell or anything else. Much easier than having little grains of salt all over the floor from litter and tracks much less than average litter.

Best Pine Litter I’ve Tried!
My cats have been using pine pellets for almost a year now and although I tried many different kinds, I always come back to this one! Best odor control ever! The PLATINUM part is important, I accidentally ordered the Original once and it worked all right, but the Platinum has a really pleasant wood smell to it that adds an extra layer to help masks litterbox odors even more, and it has baking soda baked in too I believe.* Using pine pellets is way different than using clay litter, so if you’ve never tried these before, ease into it and don’t get discouraged at first, remember the scooping process will be kind of the opposite of the traditional litter: urine will cause the pellets to turn to sawdust and the loose material is the discarded part! I advise to get a little food scoop or hand shovel for easier cleanup too.Remove solid waste first, sift the pellets to one side and sawdust to the other, then shovel the sawdust out and keep the pellets in, topping off as needed. You only need a single layer, not 2-3 inches like regular litter (the sawdust expands)

Hands down best & most affordable kitty liter!
We got a cat 4 years ago and I was new to the cat mom life so I did all my research. We tried many liters and this came down to the most affordable and easiest option for our home and cat. The pine is nearly odorless and really does control the majority of our cats odor. We got one of the shake liter boxes so all the dissolved liter goes to the bottom and then you empty it at end of week. One flaw is if you don’t shake it as often, it gets VERY dusty when you shake it. So that has made some messes, but I contribute that to user error. Overall good product and super affordable. My cat also adapted to it immediately, so no issues changing from regular liter to this as a kitten. We have also influenced friends with senior cats and they reported no issue with the transition.

favorite Litter
I love this litter and more importantly, so do my cats. I do use another litter in a second box, but they both tend to like this one better. There is no smell, and it is easy to scoop or empty. My only complaint is the bags are now 2 lbs less. So it is NOT the same price as it was, because there is 10% less in the bag

Temporary use.
Needed to get liter to take while i traveled with my cat. Not my greatest choice but it worked well for the short time I used it. The messy part was cleaning it out as it’s non clumping and my first time using non clumping. But it served it’s purpose, the scent worked well covered up the odors well.

Best cat litter ever!!!
The clay litter always had a horrible smell with my male cat, but with this litter there is almost no urine smell whatsoever! The only thing is when he poops, there’s that smell, but it goes away in an hour or so and if you clean that up then there’s no smell. My male cat has a strong urine smell, but now it just smells like pine. I’m so happy my room doesn’t stink anymore. Pair this litter with a sifter box and your good to go. Plus this has saved me so much money on litter because it lasts longer than the clay litter and its lightweight when you take it to the dump. I’m so so happy. This is really a big solution for me and my cat.

Seems different “formula”, still loosing a lot of pellets
The media could not be loaded.
Honestly, kind of disappointed this used to be my go to litter. My cat is OK with it, but it seems like the formulas changed the pellets are a variety of different lengths, which is kind of hard even when using a pellet scoop you’re still losing a lot of pellets that are still good. Of course, this brand is known to be better with the particular scooping litter box that you can accompany it with, but there’s something about it that just seems different than when I used it only a few years ago. I think specifically, this packaging with the baking soda is odd .. it creates this kind of artificial fragrance when you open the bag overall, I definitely would not buy this again, and when it arrived, just like other users stated there were some small holes and some pellets in the box. It was not a huge issue, but still a little concerning.

Cat rebellion
I bought this because my sister said it worked great, but my cats said absolutely not. Although it smelled good, we put it in. The cats refused to bury any of their poo so we just had bunch of bits of tree with poop sitting on top of it. Just didn’t work for us.

WOW!
So I take care of a dementia patient with 2 cats. I’m a live-in care giver. I was at my wits end! She loves her cats but the litter situation was getting out of hand. She would pour water in the litter! The clumping litter was a ginormous mess and the non clumping litter? I would come into a mushy crazy tornado of a mess. It was a mad house. She was going through a huge bag of litter in a week!I was skeptical of this brand at first because it just didn’t look right to me. The cats used it with no transition problem. It doesn’t clump up. It’s not messy. It turned into a fine dirt like texture and it’s easy for my patient to deal with. I don’t know if she’s still pouring water in the litter but it’s still going strong lolThere is finally some peace and I’m not as stressed out.OH AND it doesn’t smell! It’s a win!

Really like this better than clay
Likes are many,Dislikes fewLikes: fresh natural scent, way less mess outside the litter box and easier to clean up. It does require a sifter litter box if you want it to be easy to manage each day. I absolutely followed the directions to slowly add some to my prior litter, gradually increasing the amount.Dislikes- it hurts to step on as a human, and I’m not sure that my cat doesn’t experience that when she steps on it in the boxOver all, I highly recommend. If you use the sifter box, you literally lift the sifter tray up and shake each day- the spent litter that has broken down from the urine simply falls into the tray underneath and you can then empty that. Poops we pick out using toilet paper in our hand and just drop into the toilet and flush. If a few pellets stick to it, it is safe to flush them (though I do not recommend dumping a tray of the spent litter into your toilet or gobs of the pellets). I can’t smell any of my cats waste at all- as long as you manage the box each day (which I always do)

Absolutely the best litter!
My kitten developed stomach problems because someone used clumping litter while she was fostered. Cats clean their feet a lot and she swallowed the litter stuck in her paws. Clay litter was recommended by the SPCA, but I found it difficult to clean. I tried the pine pellets and they are perfect for my kitten and me.. She no longer gets litter stuck in her paws, which is important, although she does chase pieces of litter that that she kicks out of her box and ignores her toys, kind of like she prefers a cardboard box to the cool beds that she has. The pellets turn to dust after wet. I shake the box and forth back and I change the pad after a week or so. Once I waited two weeks and made a bit of a mess cleaning the box. Two and a half weeks is fine. The sifting part of the box gets some litter stuck between the sifting slots, but giving it a good smack gets most of it out. Being OCD I use a small scrub brush to get the rest. The best part of using this litter is that the box doesn’t smell like urine. I use Petfamily brand generic cat litter pads that fit perfectly 16.9 X 11.4 4 count 40 with a Purina Tidy Cats Litter box system. I change the pad every 1 to one and a half weeks, then I don’t make a mess cleaning up. It helps to put the litter box part way into a large trash can bag and then I can empty nearly all of the urine dust. I give the sifter a good smack and brush out the rest. I recommend this litter and also the Purina Tidy Cats Litter Box.

Horrible to sift,
might as well just scoop clean pellets to throw away!! I hate when my memory fails..because I now recall disliking this type of litter over a year ago. It smells great!! Fresh pine. But geez, trying to scoop only the wet, used pellets is too time consuming and you will end up scooping lots of unused to finally give up and throw the litter and your money in the trash!!

Better than the tractor supply line pellets
I tried transitioning my two cats to the tractor supply pine pellets originally since there were many positive reviews online for it. A 40lb bag is around $8, and while they did great with it, the pellets dissolved so easily. It got very smelly fast, and there was a lot of sawdust when I would clean out the litter box. I bought the bag on April 22nd, and the 40lb bag lasted me until May 14th.Fast forward to today, I bought 2 bags of this not expecting much of a difference, and it’s exceeded my expectations ! While a bit pricier, it is still cheaper than what I would spend on normal cat litter and there hasn’t been any smell. Also, when I cleaned it today, there was so much less sawdust than with the tractor supply pellets. So much less. I didn’t need to add anymore pellets today, and still have a good amount in the litter box that I suspect will last me another week. Highly suggest this bag over the tractor supply pine pellets !

Pine Pellet Cat Litter, Try it!!
I have tried several cat litters over the last few years. I started with the usual clumping, Clay cat litter, tracks, ridiculous smells, and it’s just gross, and I don’t think it clumps very well. I like the Celica for a while, but it tracks so bad so bad! And if you don’t get the litter off the bottom of the pan, it’s like a rock then I tried a company that sent you a new box and new litter every 3 to 4 weeks, I love the throwaway litter box love love, love! I tried their one litter it was called dynamite, gross, gross gross smells like urine in two days and tracked everywhere! Then I tried that companies, soy pellets, which are biodegradable, which I love, which is what I was looking for, and it lasted a very long time, it did absorb into clumps well, however, I would never put it down the toilet, like it says you can. I bought biodegradable trash bags so that I could throw what litter away I needed to. However, the soy palette litter smelled like a barnyard when the cats used it! It smells like I was at the county fair a barnyard! Gross! Now I tell you, I tried these pine pellets, OMG, life-changing! It never smells like urine ever, and the pellets turn to sawdust when the urine absorbs it to it and you can put it in your yard for compost if you want or throw it away in your biodegradable trash bags. Good for the environment! the cat poop however will smell a little bit unless the cats put the sawdust on top of it. The pallets are a little large so I had to buy a new scooper so that the pallets would fall through the slots. No big deal. I’ve also started purchasing cardboard, throwaway, cat litter boxes, off Amazon, which are also biodegradable. You just have to scoop the poop and throw that in the regular trash. Put the sawdust either in your yard or in the biodegradable trash bag and throw it away and it will compost either place and then the biodegradable good for the environment. Cat litter box needs to be thrown away every one and a half to two weeks in the recycle box. Awesome awesome awesome.I love the pine cat litter. It doesn’t smell like urine. It makes sawdust all you have to do is scoop the poop and it’s very low tracking! I love this letter I have four cats.!Give it a try maybe you’ll love it too

Makes my house smell like pine and not cat pee and poop.
I’ve had this litter for two months now and it’s been working great! When the cats pee on the pellets, the pellets absorb the urine and break down. It dries up and doesn’t smell of cat urine at all. Previous litters I’ve had including the Purina Tidy Cats Breeze pellets and clumping corn litter, which wouldn’t trap the smells. The pine pellets would absorb all the smells. I’ve never had litter like this that really works! Even when the cats have taken a fresh dookie, I can hardly smell it. With other litters, it stinks up the whole house for a while. I also have the Purina Tidy Cats Breeze litter box system and it works fairly well with that litter box. I can’t really sift with those litterboxes that well, so I get the scooper and mix around so broken down pellets so it falls through the holes and lands onto the tray at the bottom. The broken down pellets can get stuck on the Tidy Cats Breeze litter box holes which can get annoying but I usually deep clean every month so nothing gets caked on. My cats also never had a hard time switching from their previous litter to this pine litter. I would recommend getting an actual sifting litter box so it is much easier to work with this type of litter. Best affordable litter I’ve had!

A great cat litter for your family member & the enviroment
I have been familiar with # Feline Pine Platinum Non-Clumping Cat Litter for many years. I have used it with my pet-sitting clients. I have a new family member. I am giving it a try. It cuts down from the dust of the other brand litters on the market. You only want to use about 2 inches/ even less if you have a small litter box. A good friend of mine has used it for years!! She recommended scooping out clumps/feces. But, Do not pour fresh litter on top of the current litter in the box. My understanding is it contaminates the litter.? I keep 2 open boxes of baking soda behind the litter box. Great additional, odor control. I hope this review helps you !

Nice pine scent, super absorbent
I have a Tidy Cats Breeze box. I really like it, although it was a hard sell to my cat. It’s easier, lighter and less messy. The problem is cost. Those clay pellets are expensive so I thought to try these. I love these so much more. I go through less pads because these pellets absorb much of the urine. The smell is infinity better than with the clay.I have since moved onto goat bed pellets from my local farm supply, which are $5 per 40 pounds, but if the difference between prices wasn’t so massive, I would have stuck with these pine pellets, they smell better and are a bit bigger.

Very soggy
I bought this because I ran out of my typical litter for my Tidy Cats breeze system. The breeze system allows the urine to pass through the litter and onto an absorbent pad under the litter box. The stool part doesn’t get absorbed, and you just scoop it out and strain the loose litter through the provided scooper that has slots in it. No mess. No smell. In the pictures provided on the website, this pine litter it looks like it’s the same type of litter of the breeze system, but it is not! Although I like the scent of this, and it does help mask odors, it is just super soggy and absorbs the urine. So you end up having to scoop it out like a regular litter box, which I hate. For me, the urine collecting everything and smelling is the most disgusting and cumbersome part of cleaning a litter box. Poop sticks to it, and it ends up being this solid, cloppy mess. With this pine litter, I had to clean the whole thing out and empty the entire used litter into a trash bag, because after awhile it just stopped being able to repel odors and collected a ton of urine and feces. My whole house smelled terrible. . I’m not happy with it. But for some people they might like it because it’s natural and has a nice scent. I definitely will not go this route again to save money.

Truly odorless results
I ordered the Feline Arm and Hammer pine pellets to be used with a sifting litter box set. Conceptually seemed easy enough but there was a learning curve for both myself and Echo Gabriel – my cat.Instructions on how to transition from straight clump litter to the pellets are easy to follow. But things went downhill from there.First my kitten was taking the pellets out and swatting them all around the house and sometimes would even be chewing on the pellets. That worried me because I was concerned about him developing an obstruction in his stomach or intestines.Second trying to sift the pellets was not easy at least for me. It made lots of dust, pellets would get stuck in the openings and inevitably litter would spill onto the floor. I was not a happy camper. However I was determined to make this work because the pellets did the one thing I wanted the most and that was eliminate odors. And when I say eliminate odors I mean zero stench as in zip, zilch, nada, nothing. So I decided I needed to figure out a way to use the pine pellets so that I could do the sifting with minimal dust and not have to stop every nano second to clear out the large pellets that were getting stuck and hindering the sifting process.Second I needed to find a way to discourage Echo from playing his game of swatting pellets all over the house, and then chewing them up.My solution was to use an old fashioned blender. I take no more than a cup at a time of the whole pellets and alternate between grinding and grating . This allows me to control the consistency of what was now becoming a sort of pine litter/sawdust. At first I only made enough to fill a 2 gallon container with this sawdust. I wanted to see if it would work and if Echo would accept the texture of this new litter. To use I fill the litter box with a layer of approximately 3 inches of sawdust and then add about a cup and a half of Fresh step clumping litter.Doing that significantly helps minimize dusting. But what I like the best is that it creates very loose pine sawdust clumps that I can quickly scoop out throughout the day as needed without having to do the sifting every single time.So basically I manage the litter box throughout the day by just scooping and replenishing litter as needed. The litter box stays clean, and there is absolutely no oder because of how the pine sawdust absorbs and effectively neutralizes any odor. For sanitary reasons I sift the litter and wash all basins out weekly. Then I just recycle back in the box the sifted litter replenishing as needed to ensure enough is in the box.I dump the entire mixture at every 4 weeks, sanitize the bins again and replace with a completely new batch of my pine sawdust mixtureFollowing this method has been been very effective in neutralizing any and all odors. Love the outcome!

Best litter I’ve tried!
I have three male cats, none of which are fixed and their pee STINKS, and they’re bad about slinging litter all over the place when they use the litterbox which is a terror to clean upI’ve tried clay litter, crystal litter, the Breeze litter pellets, each one was better than the next but I just couldn’t find anything that masked the smell or was decent in price UNTIL I found this! The pine pellets absorb and mask the odor of cat pee, when the pellets get wet they disintegrate and shift to the bottom of the litter pan which is nice- no wet cat litter getting slung out of the box, it’s easy to scoop, and lasts a pretty long time considering there’s three cats using it, 10/10 recommend!

Amazing
Okay so I’ve had cats all my life and we just moved into a new house and didn’t want to let our cat outside. we are in the country and she’s an indoor/outdoor cat. She’s fixed of course!! so until she was used to the house and area I wanted her to use a litter box for awhile which I hate 😫 I had read the reviews on this and they were really good so i decided to try it and let me just tell you what 🙌 this stuff is Amazing 🤩 there is literally like no smell at ALL!! the Pee turns to dust and the poop you just scoop up but the pine smell really does a great job of keeping it at Bay. Don’t hesitate on trying this!! It’s amazing and your cat will get used to it don’t worry. where has this been all my life 🙌❤️

Great!!! I love love love this litter but….
I thought I was getting a deal on this stuff lol… at almost $18 for almost 20lbs. Went to check out tractor supply and they sell an actual 20lb bag for $7.99… but pine is the best I’ve ever tried for litter though! I had never even heard of pine for cats. I’ve had cats all my life so this has been a game changer. But get it at tractor supply…

Best I’ve found for cleanup & smell!
I don’t usually leave reviews but for this, I had to! I have two cats and currently use the tidy cats litter system. Every time I go to change the litter, I’m gagging because of the smell. I dread changing the litter box until today! This is the first time I’ve used this brand and let me tell you there was absolutely no smell. I couldn’t believe it. Cleanup was fantastic. The urine had made the pine pellets crumble down into almost a dust like consistency and it must’ve absorbed all the urine because in the tray, there was no liquid urine. I am very impressed & will be sharing my excitement!

Not sure
My cats haven’t decided whether they like the change and keep going to the other litter box with cat litter they expect. Wanted to let them get use to it before taking the standard litter away

The perfect litter does exist!
This stuff is a god send. Seriously, my cat gets most litter EVERYWHERE as it sticks to his paws but given the pellet size this stuff stays in his box.It has almost no scent to it, a slightly woody pine obviously, if anything at all which tbh I find pleasant compared to the chemical scents of many litters. Additionally, it does a great job at naturally nullifying the smell of cat urine. Almost 0 ammonia smell even if I even up going a day or two without changing his box.The main downside is that it isn’t really great at clumping and therefor when it comes to changing litter you use quite a bit more. Considering this litter is also more expensive pound for pound compared to others that is probably a deal breaker for many of you.

My favorite litter to use
This is my favorite litter to use! I like that the pieces are larger and won’t get stuck between my cats toes, and it keeps the scent down very well!! I have used clay and paper litters and to me they just smell TERRIBLE! I can’t stand the smell of them. But the pine litter never seems to bother me! I also think the clay litter is more messy and gets everywhere. The pine pellets do disintegrate, so when you dump the litter box completely, some of the dust may get on the floor. But it is easy to clean up! It never really gets tracked through the house either, only a little right in front of the litter box. This litter also doesn’t seem to give my cat coughing fits! When I’ve used clay litter before, he coughed a lot more frequently. I don’t know if it’s because this litter doesn’t have harsh chemicals and perfumes, but that’s another bonus! I like that isn’t made with perfumes or harsh chemicals! We have 3 cats and get two 18 pound bags delivered every 2 weeks.

So much healthier for your cat
This litter has no smell. No waste smell, no litter smell. There is no dust, no cloud when changing it out.I know some people prefer the ease of a machine or certain litters that look more attractive, but when it comes to my cat, I want what is best for her. This litter doesn’t get stuck in her paws, less is tracked out, and when it is, it is clean, and I can easily pick it up and toss it back in the litter box. I have tried the newspaper litter, and it was ok, but this absorbs better and quicker.

Great sand litter alternative
Would definitely use this instead of the classic sand, quickly removes odor as well as absorbs urine. Only Con is that it doesn’t do as well with feces.

No clay or crystals ever again!
I love my 2 cats so freaking much but HATE dealing with the litter boxes… No matter what I tried they always stunk and I found myself spending tons on different litters and replacing litter boxes; even after I bleached them they still absorbed the smell and had to be tossed. I only came across this type of litter very recently while searching for yet another set of litter boxes 😑 and decided to try. Infinitely better … The only time there’s a bit of odor is immediately after they go potty but once the waste is scooped up there’s no more odor. Some folks are complaining that the pellets disintegrate – to me that’s the BEST part. I use sifter boxes and line them with litter pads which absorb liquid and keep the dissolved pellets from touching the bottom of the box. It does take an extra 5 mins every few days to switch everything out but so worth it. Clay was dusty, tracked and stunk if not dumped out completely. Crystals do nothing but get all over the house and scratch floors bc it gets stepped on even though I vacuum twice a day. A few pellets get thrown out of the box but they don’t stick to the cats’ paws (too big/heavy) and there is no dust all over the place. Took a few days for the cats to get used to it but now they go no problem. Everyone is different of course, it I sure am glad I tried the pellets, they’re saving me time, money, my NOSE, and I no longer worry about having friends over and smelling the cats’ litter. PS: I also tried Breeze pellets but they don’t break up and are smaller; half of it falls through the softer – also more $$$$

The only cons are the scooping and sifting
I liked this so much better than clay litter until it came to the scooping and sifting part. Unfortunately, as much as I watched to keep using pine pellets constantly trying to scoop out poop one at a time became time consuming and impossible not to throw out pellets that were unable to fall through the scooper. The sifting was also time consuming, not to mention the arm&hammer sifting litter box( that’s recommended)was too small and my cat would kick all the pellets onto the floor, which I had to constantly sweep it up and put it back into the litter box. Back to the sifting process with the arm&hammer sifting litter box that’s recommended for these pellets…1. Dump the sawdust from top litter box into the sifter underneath, 2. Shake out the sawdust into the bottom litter box, 3rd step dump the sawdust then put the pellets back into the litter box, and repeat every few days or weekly. That part was the only con and why I couldn’t give this 5 stars, because I loved everything else. If I can find clumping sawdust that would be perfect.
