Too bright at times.
I bought this UV flaslight along with a 365NM UV flashlight. This UV flashlight does show most invisible stains, but is sometimes too bright and illuminates too much. While it will be great for showing scorpions around the house, the 365NM UV light shows more stains.

I don’t know what everyone is talking about how gross their bathroom is. I see a bunch of dust particles but not much in the aspect of prints or liquids. You can see liquid a little but not as much as I thought it would

Nice to have but not a professional tool
We have three old cats and they have accidents, from throwing up to just not being able to get to their litter box in time. We’ve been able to keep up with the clean up but in spite of using a quality cat urine cleaner and deodorizer we still smell the faint lingering urine smell. The UV flashlight doesn’t do a great job of finding the urine spot that has not been completely consumed by the enzymes in the cleaning solution. The light will show a puddle but not the area cleaned up. Definitely have to use it in almost total darkness.It’s fun to play with though!The price didn’t break the bank but it’s up to the buyer to decide if it’s worth the $10+ expenditure.

Okay light, but very heavy for its size
This is not the best black light I have ever had, but it’s adequate for the job I needed it to do. It wasn’t any good for finding pet urine in the carpet (I tested it on a spot where I KNEW a cat had peed, and it did not show it up), but it was fine for identifying uranium glass. It’s heavier than a regular flashlight, even though it is smaller. It also goes through batteries pretty fast.

Better to use at night
I bought this light because I have animals and want to be sure that I clean up after the piddles I don’t see. When done at night, the urine will illuminate brighter. Best purchase I have made and would purchase again.

Educating
I told my wife one of our hallways and bedroom smells like urine and she didn’t believe me. I finally bought this handheld blacklight to investigate my claim. Once it was night time I took her on a little tour. Holy macarel!!! We found urine spots (deposits) that had never been attended to. I even showed her how discusting toillette surfaces and the walls surrounding toillettes really are. ICK!!! Now it is rubber gloves time and a more frequent check up on toillette surfaces.

Very powerful
I use this to “charge up” my kids glow in the dark toys. They have some glow in the dark stars on their walls which often are not glowing at bed time. A brief shine from this flashlight has them glowing brightly until the kids are asleep.

Gets plenty bright, wish it had a bigger area of light
We got this light to help us locate stains when cleaning and to illuminate all the glow-in-the-dark items we have at home. The light gets very bright and illuminates GOITD items quickly. The range, however, leaves a bit more to be desired. The center circle of the light is a bit on the smaller side (considering how bright it gets.) I think this is just a limitation of the size of the lamp, not necessarily a downside of using it. In any case, if the light can reach the area you are pointing at without dimming too much, it will illuminate those dirty spots you’re looking for. Great to use for parties !

I love to collect flashlights, that was why I picked it up.
Well I Love and collect flashlights! I have all kinds, I drift in the direction of really bright ones.Well I know of the novelty of Backlights and saw this flashlight and thought that sounds like fun. So I ordered it with the intent of fun being the primary reason. After placing the order on Amazon I started to see recommendations of odor and animal stain removers. I was confused and tried to figure out why the big data analytics felt that this was perfect for me. I then remembered from crime shows that they use black light to find evidence on walls and carpet. Hmm we have a dog and three kids, this could be interesting.The flashlight arrived and I opened up the box with the flashlight(no batteries). I put some batteries in it and waited till nightfall.Night fell across the manor I had had many plans for my activities. First to prove my pouches innocents as my wife suspected that she(dog) would pee in our house.I started walking around the house with the lights off. Well everything that was white on the floor really shows up, and I was able to prove that the kids were not vacuuming the floor as often as we asked, we suspected this. We never called them on it as we were not really able to prove it. The carpet is not the newest and does not always show when it has been just vacuumed. +1 for the practical applications of the flashlight.I was able to see that I was correct about the dog…except for one spot, sniff. (-1 Broken heart)Well I was able to see more then I had planned so at that time I was like I want to look at everything in this house! I went to the kitchen and scanned the counter tops. They had a few spots but nothing big. I think it was my day to clean them, Ok it was my day. +1 for the flashlight.I then took it to the bathrooms. My wife was under the impression that they boys would always sit when they went in there. she was was not correct about this. +1 for the flashlight. Side note as I love my wife and never want her to be wrong about small things (Happy Wife happy life) I took a mental note of that mess and took a bucket and a scrub brush and soap and cleaned the mess. It was only in the grout and yea that is no longer the case.I took the light into my boys room that they shared. Now as far as a ten and twelve year old goes I was expecting much worse. I also learned that crumbs stand out also. +1 for the light.On to my sweet princess who could never do anything wrong. I walked in her spotless room(not always the case) and turned off her light and turned on mine…Shock and horror filled my heart. Crumbs all over just like her Brothers! Then I saw some marks on the wall. “I love My mom and dad” I was impressed by her penmanship but was not happy that she had got that on the wall, and how? Next mystery, I am looking at you Crayola. +1Now as it is getting to Halloween and the reason I picked up the light. I am excited for the fun that this light will provide +1.As far as practical applications go this flashlight will not be going away after the Holiday. I will be using this often to help my family learn where we can improve on some of the ways we clean the house, sorry manor lol. +1 for novelty.Side note you cannot see black dog hair. lolFlashlight score card +7 -1(I still love my pooch)I was pleasantly surprised by this purchase. and I recommend every family with kids and/or animals pick this light up.After everything that I have learned I will be gifting this to all of my family members for Christmas.

Actually works
Every cat owner knows the feeling of stepping into a room and feeling dread as that smell hits your nose. Your cat peed somewhere and you have no idea where. This light makes it very simple to see exactly where you need to clean because those urine cleaners are expensive and you don’t want to spray down the whole room! You can use the light to see the efficacy of the cleaner too, one cleaner I tried still left a faint outline of the pee stain with the UV light but the other completely broke it up. The fact that the flashlight is plug and play with AA batteries makes it really easy to set up and use right away. I will say don’t disregard the warning about UV eye protection when using this, I have sensitive eyes that definitely hurt a little after using this pointed at the ground for about 5 minutes.

It does show cat urine
I was concerned after reading reviews that it doesn’t show urine but it does. We had an injured feral cat staying in a bedroom while he was being treated by a vet and he urinated in a few places that we couldn’t find. This showed the spots easily.Maybe it doesn’t show in an actual litter box because the urine is now mixed into a clump of litter (some reviews said it didn’t work on definite urine clumps in a litter box) but it did work to show where the cat sprayed on the wall and the floor.

Not sure if it works for cat pee
This arrived on time and nicely packaged, it works and it does illuminate a big area which is a big plus, you’ll see all kinds of lint and every little speck on the carpet, the only thing im not sure of is if it actually works for cat pee or not, i knew my cat had peed on a certain spot and i used an enzymatic cleaner to get rid of the smell so that they wouldn’t come back to it later, but after washing it i still felt unsure and so began my search for a uv light, this one is certainly better than the small one i bought prior, but it didn’t show anything different on the aforementioned spot, not sure if the enzymatic cleaner worked so great that the lamp identifies the spot as clean, or if the lamp just doesn’t light up cat pee

See dog messes invisible to the naked eye
This product is perfect for spotting dog messes that we otherwise wouldn’t be able to see. Even your stains that have long dried become visible, using the special flashlight. I can see where to focus my cleaning efforts, and I do a much better job of keeping my home deodorized and urine free.

Exactly what I needed!
Perfect little black light or UV light perfect for resin curing looking for urine stains I normally use it just for resin curing and it works really well it’s very bright it does last a long time on one set of batteries It’s very durable it’s a great size and the lenses are very very bright overall I’m pretty excited about the purchase and it was a really a great price

Powerful UV Light for pets and cleaning
This is a great little UV flashlight and it gives off a strong, powerful UV light. I originally bought it because I suspected my older Shih Tzu was having accidents on our carpet while I was at work. We have a dark colored carpet in our bedroom and hallway. I could faintly smell a slight urine odor but by the time I got home, it would be dry and i couldn’t find the spot to clean it up. I’ve rented a carpet cleaner several times and done the entire carpet, but lugging it up the stairs, days or weeks after the accident happened, doesn’t really seem effective or efficient. Plus if I can’t prevent it or discourage her, it’ll keep happening. The flashlight has helped tremendously! I found that she kept marking in the same spot and I realized it only happened when I was late coming home. Armed with this knowledge, I was able to curb this unwanted behavior. I’ve gotten rid of any trace of urine, and now i use a discouragement spray and put down a wee wee pad in the exact spot if i think I might be home late. No more accidents! The UV light is also helpful when cleaning bathrooms, the floors, the fridge, cabinets, dishes, etc. I use the light to see what isn’t visible to the naked eye and you’d be shocked to see what is left behind even after you just cleaned. I find myself reaching for it several times a week! A great product, made well, hefty and sturdy. A must have for pet owners.

Actually works
THIS ACTUALLY WORKS! It’s about the tenth black light I have bought in the last 20 years. I am not even sure why I bought this one, because they never work. But, bought this -and boy we have a heck of a mess to clean up. We were well aware we had a problem, but needed help finding all the spots so we can fully treat and eliminate the residual odor our noses cannot pick up. This is doing exactly what we needed. It works. Regarding the reviews stating it doesn’t work on soft material – I have found several spots on lighter colored carpets with no issue, as well as some other fabrics the jerks peed on. We also found spray on the walls that we were unaware of. Super happy with this and highly recommend for cat pee. Now, when I initially put the batteries in, it seemed super weak. The batteries were new. But, before giving up, I tried another new set of batteries, and it worked great. Must have been a bad battery in the mix. Highly suggest giving this a try if you have a urine problem in the house.

Great product that is easy to use.
I bought this for two reasons. I wanted to check for cat urine and check some pearl earrings to see if they are real and/or cultured. We had an old black light that is now missing. This light is 100 times better than our old light. It doesn’t have to be completely dark to see a glow. It’s extremely bright and powerful. I highly recommend it, and it’s an excellent price for the high quality.

Didn’t seem to work in pitch dark. Better with some light in room.
Not sure what everyone else is seeing but it just blows compared to my old UV light on a dark room. Did a little research and some say the nm light range is too high. Going to try a 365-ish nm range and hope for the best. GOSH is this frustrating! I put it side by side with my old Stink-Finder light and I could not see ANY of the urine with this light. It DiD light up better when I put a soft lamp on in the room so who knows. Hope this helps.

I use this for checking Vintage guitar finish. It will show a re-finished guitar or touch up.
I purchase this because I Buy and Sell Vintage guitars. Today, people can take a guitar that had the finish removed and paint it for example like on certain Fender guitar models where 99.9% of them were made in a Sunburst finish from 1954-1970. Some people will want a fancier finish, color. They have them repainted by a pro. Some of these people can even mimic 50 years of dings, rubbing wear and check marks. For example if you left your guitar in the trunk then grab it on 30 degree day and bring it int he house and then pop the lid on the case and I have seen it happen once, but it is similar to dropping an Ice cube into room temperature water and the ice cube will crack. Same with the guitar finish. But if you take the guitar into a dark room and run the light over it, a repaired ding will glow a different color then the rest of the guitar. And i just looked at a local guitar for sale which should be the see through Cherry finish over Mahagony wood. The finish was perfect on this hard to refinish guitar. On a model from 1958 in the dark the black light will show the original lighter wood mahogany on a true vintage one, but on a refinished one, it will still look Cherry Mahogany. Yet during the day they look identical. Can save you from spending $12,000 on a guitar worth maybe or even less then half that. Also other guitars that are not see through you want to look over in some areas because they are so easy to break part of the neck. It is a great tool if you are putting out serious money on a vintage guitar. I know it is an odd use for the black light, but the new Led lights make these flashlight’s are must haves on every guitar you look at that is very expensive.

Works as expected
How well it works is actually kind of gross. We adopted two male rescue dogs and there is a lot of marking going on that we are not witness to. This flashlight shows the spots so they can be cleaned up. I’ve gone back to areas I know I’ve cleaned and can see if there are still areas I’ve missed or that didn’t clean up completely because they will still show but will be fainter. Highly recommend if you have phantom pee-ers.

Prepare to be disgusted!
Have had an issue recently of my cat several times peeing on my couch. Wanted to make sure no stain/scent remained for him to think that’s his marked territory. After cleaning the couch looked/smelled absolute perfect to the naked eye… this blacklight showed a totally different reality! Huge bright spot middle of cushion under the blacklight. Two more rounds of cleaning until it was clean.Started shining the light around randomly at things in my house…be prepared when doing that to be embarrassed & disguested with yourself!The darker the room is the better it works. Works much better on fabric than harder material like hardwood or countertops (works great on bathroom surfaces though)

Did what it was supposed to do
Got this so I could find where the doggie pee smell was coming from that I couldn’t see it but knew it was there. Was watching CSI and saw them using a black light and thought wonder if there is something like that for urine, sure enough they do. I went into the room shown the light on a chair and sure enough there it was like a Jackson Pollack painting. Now off to clean it with my deep pet stain remover vacuum and hunt for other stains.

We came to the conclusion that our male dog was marking his territory in one of our bedrooms. We had moved in a couple years ago and put new carpet in all the bedrooms. Problem is, the carpet fibers are of various colors and you can’t see that he’s gone. Where I thought it was a couple of places, turned out to be much more! This little light makes urine glow and tells me I have a whole lot of work to do. Now, if I can get the smell out.(I don’t know why I’m the only one who smells it!)

I thought it would illuminate the pee better.
I intended to use it to find cat pee. I could smell it, but could not find it. That is why I ordered the light. The pee does not show up as well as I thought it would. I am too old to crawl around looking for the pee. I want to be able to clean it entirely. I have not tried it on fingernails yet.

Works great for finding stains on my carpet, furniture, and car interior.
Am getting my home ready to sell and need to make sure my two year old carpeting is not harboring pet odors and unknown / urine stains. Also want to sell my SUV so need to get that ‘showroom ready’. It works so well it’s a little overwhelming all that I saw… I went looking for cat messes and discovered what looked like a paintball field. This plus Nature’s Miracle Advanced Cat Lemon and I’m on my way to no more cat pee smell.

Really works!
The light really does show where there is pet urine on the carpet and shows where it needs to be cleaned and deodorized. I would absolutely recommend this if you need to know where the pet odor is coming from.

Just got this light in, and it is fantastic. I used it to charge glow in the dark golf balls for a night tournament. But the kids have found all kinds of uses for it!! Great product for the money.

It really works!
I ordered this black light so I could find my puppy’s potty accidents. It really does work, but you do have to hold it close to the floor.

Save your sanity, don’t buy
For the love of dog, I bought this light to see if my little dog was peeing on my carpet without stepping in pee. What a nightmare, now I can not unsee the pee shots EVERYWHERE!!! I have cleaned them with everything, steam cleaned, enzymes…. Although the carpet looks clean, shine the light and there are ALL THE STAINS. 🐕🍋💦😭

Neat little flashlight!
I bought this light so I could see exactly where my puppy had an accident in order to clean all of it well. This light made it super easy to find not only the puppy spots, but everything I wouldn’t be able to see in a real light- my sister and I brought this to a hotel on a trip and man, did it find some things haha! Great light!

It smelled horrible when I came back home, after being away for a week. My kitty was taken care of every day, but he was used to my being at home almost 24/7. The black light identified all the sprayed spots that needed to be cleaned up. It’s disgusting, but at least I’ll find them so I can clean & eliminate all odors!
